Dragonball: Evolution

So Dragonball Evolution came out on DVD a few weeks ago. I was planning on watching it in the theater when it first came out, but then again I gave it a thought and waited till the DVD release. I am sure that those who are crazy about Dragon Ball manga, and have seen the movie…THEY ALL LAUGHED at the movie or simply HATED it. Personally, I don’t even know what the director was thinking when he filmed the movie. Out of the million mistakes and disapointments in the movie, I’d have to ask; “Could there been any worst acting in the movie?” As many would agree, hearing about “the movie” everyone would have the curiosity to watch it and see Goku and the rest of the characters come in “real life” acting. C’mon, this movie not only did not fulfill any of my expectations, but it also ruined the Kame Hame Ha.

Darfur

Right before the beginning of this past semester, I decided to pick a book from the library and came across with a book called “Darfur Diaries: Stories of Survival” by Jen Marlowe. Before that day I have come across with various ads in the subway regarding Darfur, yet I didn’t think much about the case. Throughout the book I found the cruelty happening in Darfur all these years.
In fact Darfur is a poor and exhausted region, and Sudan’s largest part in Northern Africa, with a population of approximately 6 million people. Most of the population is African farmers from the tribes of Fur, Masalit, and Zaghawa; the rest of the population is nomadic Arab tribes. For the last six years, Darfur has suffered many war crimes against humanity. Since 2003 there has been debate as to whether or not the crisis in Darfur qualifies as genocide; men are being killed, women are being raped, children taken as slaves, and many of them are forced to leave their villages and seek safety in refugee camps in the surrounding countries.
I made my research based on the Darfur crisis, and surprisingly I got an A. I think in present times, we should help each other and not try to destroy one another. The Darfur Diaries is a great book which beyond informing the inhumanity happening across the world, also teaches us how to learn from past mistakes, help one another, and become better in life!

Did anyone see the new C.K. Jeans ad? They recently launched a new advertisement campaign with Eva Mendes and Jamie Dornan. The ad is posted all around New York City, but I have mostly seen it in Union Sq.

Burn Notice Season Finale

Un freaking believable! The Season Finale of Burn Notice was amazing. I’ve been following the series ever since the first episode. I have to say that the first season was the best ever, yet this last one was good as well. For those who have seen Burn Notice and liked it, you know exactly what I mean. I watched the season finale a few days ago, and I have to say: IT WAS FULL OF SUSPENSE!!! At the last episode, surprisingly Michael’s “client” was Fiona and her brother. While Michael, Sam, Fiona, and her brother (from Ireland) are facing an Irish criminal in Miami, Michael does everything in his power to save his girlfriend. What I loved the most from the episode, is how they all get united. Come on, I’ve been waiting for three seasons to see Michael and Fiona to get back together, and there couldn’t be a better way of happening. If you haven’t seen the Burn Notice, you should start watching it. If you like suspense, action, drama, and humor, this is your series. One of my favs!!!
